National Event Results

This page provides links to results of major national orienteering events held in Australia.

National League results and standings are shown on the National League pages. International events in Australia (e.g. APOC, Oceania Championships, Australia-NZ Challenge) are shown on the international pages. State Championships and other state-level events are shown on the state pages.

On this page, if there is no entry for a year the event did not take place. If there is an entry but no link, the results have not yet been added to the OA site. (*) indicates that the link in the table below is to an external site (usually a state association page).

This page is under continuous construction. In its present form it is not the best place to look for recent event results - for these, go to the News section or state association websites.

The Middle Distance Championships were known as the Short Distance Championships until 2001. They were run in all age classes in 1992-93 and from 2006 onwards, and in M/W21 and 20 only in other years.

The Long Distance Championships are also widely known as the Australian Championships. The status of the 1971 event, which was billed as the 'Australian Championships' but held before the formation of any national governing body, is disputed.

The Sprint Championships were run in M/W21 and 20 in 2004-05, and in all age classes from 2006 onwards.

The Australian Relays were a club event until 1995 and a state event from 1996 onwards.

The Australian Schools Championships were an open event for individuals until 1988 and an event for state teams from 1989 onwards.
