Welcome to the Orienteering Australia technical pages.

Rules, Guidelines and Resources
Orienteering Australia produces rules and guidelines for major events. The rules are binding for group A and B events, while the guidelines are produced to assist organisers of National League events. These are available for download from Section 2 - Technical and Competition of the OA Operational Manual.
International control descriptions (2004 edition) should be used at all Australian events. These can be downloaded from the links below:

A set of documents have been collated by the Technical Director relevant to organisation of major events.
These are available from the Director Technical. When the upgrade to the OA web site is complete, they will be available on that site.

Controllers Pages
Controllers are our first line of defence in the battle to maintain the technical standards of Australian Orienteering: they provide the quality control on all of our major events.
Recently, OA completed a major program to standardise education and accreditation of controllers under ASC's National Officiating Accreditation Scheme. Details of the curricula, controllers currently accredited and other resources for controllers can be found on the
controllers pages.
For more information on how to become a controller, email OA Director, Technical.
