Hi Australopers, just log in and click "edit html" at the bottom of the page and add your own story! Be careful not to delete anyone else's though!

I started orienteering way back in 1986! I had recently moved to Hobart and a fellow worker, Sally, suggested I give orienteering a try as I wanted something to do outdoors on the weekend that did not take too long! So her family took Dylan and I to our first event at Ridgeway where we quickly learn that it was not the thing to do to call out "is that control number xxx" It was fun, we came third on the novice course, and I have enjoyed it ever since (well mainly).

I started orienteering with dad way back before wheels were invented. Dad designed the australopers logo (one of Dad's good ideas). The uniform was brown and gold (one of dad's bad ideas - although I may be doing him a misservice - perhaps it was someone else's idea to blend in with the bush) - either way I never owned an official uniform until now.
