BJ again showed his outstanding form finishing second behind Park World Tour leader Oystein Kvaal Osterbo in Jinhua. Ben Rattray finished 20th in an understandably subdued performance after dislocating his shoulder in his Park World Tour debut in Shanghai only four days ago.

Rob Preston of the NSW Stingers and Anna Danielsson of the Canberra Cockatoos took out today’s National League Round 11, at the Tasmanian Championships on the sand dunes of Pittwater. Althoug they took individual honours, the best team on the day was the Victorian Nuggets, who moved into second place overall and whittled the Cockatoos’ lead to 21 points with four rounds remaining.

Jo Allison and Eric Morris dominated the ACT Championships as Orienteering was welcomed back to Captains Flat for the first time in several years. In a very strong but small women’s field Jo Allison won comprehensively from Tracey Bluett and Nicki Taws. In the men's race Eric Morris won strongly ahead of Rob Preston and Kerrin Rattray.

Hanny Allston created history by becoming the first individual orienteer from outside of Europe to stand on the podium at a foot World Orienteering Championships and she is among the few juniors who have had the honour. The Australian team for the Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC) has been announced. Following the Easter 3-day competition, which served as the selection trial, selectors have named the following team:
Men: Julian Dent, Conrad Elson, Louis Elson, David Meyer, Ryan Smyth, Simon Uppill.
Women: Hanny Allston, Ainsley Cavanagh, Zebedy Hallett, Jasmine Neve, Erin Post, Vanessa Round.
Reserves for the men’s team are Matt Parton and Chris Naunton; Kellie Whitfield and Heather Harding are reserves for the women’s team.

In response to the recent bushfires that wiped out the areas designated for upcoming selection trials Orienteering Australia has determined that the recent Australian Easter 3 Days competition will serve as the ONLY selection races for the Australian team to compete in the World Orienteering Championships in Japan later this year.
