Summer 75 #2 at the You Yangs
Tuesday, 16 February 2016
Another lovely summer evening and 63 competitors took part in the second of this summer's four Summer 75 Series events on Saturday evening at the You Yangs, hosted by Bayside Kangaroos. Angus Robinson set a good course that included lots of the great flowing single track with a few hilly excursions to test the faster riders. About a dozen riders achieved the maximum score within the time limit, with Tim Jackson the fastest. We had some newcomers along again which was great to see, and even a walker from the Geelong/Surf Coast park and street series (she collected 6 controls!). The Eisner/Wade family group with two primary school aged girls managed to find 9 controls in an hour – great riding! The saddest face was from Heather Leslie who got a puncture on her new bike after only two controls. She did bounce back to borrow a bike and collect controls at the end.
A big thanks to all the helpers who pitched in to make it such an enjoyable event - Anne Robinson for organising, Angus Robinson for course setting and all the on the day helpers - Geoff, Anne and Angus R, Greg T, John and Jenny S, Peter and Carolyn C, Dave Cassar, Heather, Kevin, Prue, Tim Rowe, Scott and Beck G, Anthony Jones, Ralph, Issie and Geoff H.
The next event is in two weeks at Westerfolds Park on Saturday February 27 starting at 6pm. Results here
